Visual identity system / prototype

Equilibria

Designing new forms of collective intelligence.

The Equilibria identity is measured and minimal, drawing on mathematical notation and architectural working drawings. Clear lines, sharp edges, honest structure, and restrained technical texture give complex-systems research a legible visual form. This revision retains the measured system and adds disciplined hand drafting: equations, hypotheses, and graph structures that feel actively reasoned through without making the interface itself imprecise.

what if the diagram is part of the argument—not an illustration after it?

01 / MARK EXPLORATION

ONE LINE / MANY DYNAMICS

The mark is no longer assumed to be symmetrical.

Every candidate is generated by the same Lorenz system used on the home page. The phase and sampling window reveal unequal basins; nearby parameter studies test proportion without replacing the underlying mathematics with invented curves.

04Quiet return
σ10 / ρ28 / β8⁄3

Fewer revolutions leave clearer counters and a restrained crossover.

02Right weighted
σ10 / ρ28 / β8⁄3

The same system caught during a longer right-hand orbit.

07Slow coupling
σ9 / ρ28 / β8⁄3

Lower sigma stretches the exchange between variables.

Candidate 04 is shown only as a scale/context placeholder. No candidate is promoted to the production mark until selected and optically refined.

Hairline frame + ticks

Content sits on a drawn sheet: a 1px ink-15% frame with corner ticks, like a measured drawing.

b / retained

Diagonal hatch

The texture that replaces flat white and the old photo. A fine 45° hatch in ink-6%, nothing more.

c / retained

Hatched card

The card the site already gets right, elevated: sharp edges, hatch ground, a hairline border, a mono tag.

d / retained

Annotated rule

Section breaks are a full hairline with a mono label riding on it — the drawing-callout motif.

DISCIPLINED HAND DRAFTING

Precise enough to explain. Human enough to think with.

The interface remains exact. Hand-drawn geometry appears where the work is exploratory: models, equations, hypotheses, causal arrows, and marginal notes.

  • variation is local, never global noise;
  • most strokes are confident and smooth;
  • corrections and open contours are rare;
  • the same model can animate without changing its visual identity.

Redundancy is not the same as resilience.

A network may have many connections and still depend on a small number of structural bridges.

AI agents are integrating into societyAutonomous systems are no longer isolated behind APIs. They trade, negotiate, allocate resources, and make decisions alongside people and institutions. The result is a social fabric — a network of humans, organizations, and AI agents connected through overlapping relationships and dependencies. This prototype displays a four-layer directed acyclic graph from signals through interpretation and decisions to consequences. Circles are humans, triangles are AI systems, and squares are institutions. Open, hatched, and solid fills show receiving, interpreting, and committed states. Thin ink shows ordinary directed relations; a bold blue line marks one consequential path.1234567891011121314151617181920

05 / REPRESENTATIONAL SKETCH

THE HUMAN HAND / ACTIVE INQUIRY

The network is being made, tested, and revised.

Representational sketches can carry the human side of collective intelligence: hands, tools, institutions, organisms, and places. They share the graphite grammar of the diagrams without turning the whole interface into a facsimile notebook.
